On the days when the numbers are not moving, on the days when the right outfit is not the right outfit, on the days when the motivation to move forward seems distant, on the days when there is more self-doubt than self-love; I muster the courage to stand on the other end of someone’s camera lens to pose and smile. To capture what the photographer thinks the world wants to see.
When I play with a layout like this, I no longer see a woman carrying her self-doubt in pounds. I no longer see a mother fearful of a life that may be cut short by health-related issues. I no longer see a woman filled with rage for what was and what could have been. I no longer see a woman who would rather stay hidden in the shadows. I no longer see a woman who does not love herself.
I see a woman who has many miles to travel. I see a woman who knows she still has room to grow in all areas of life. I see a woman who has had the inner turmoil lifted from her spirit. I see a woman walking on purpose. I see a woman strong in faith, knowledge, and truth. I see a woman shining from the glory of God. I see a woman beginning to live a life of adventure.
Woman, no matter the challenge, STAY THE COURSE!
